BEACON ROCK STATE PARK

There are 33 tent sites in this park, as well as primitive camping areas outside the confines of the campground. Seven miles of groomed trails make this a nice location for bikers and hikers, too. The towering Beacon Rock, the result of a volcano thousands of years ago, is climbable. There's a 4,500 foot trail up the rock, which promises the best view in all of Washington. This park is open between July-January.

This is a fee free park located on the banks of Lake Chelan, one of the deepest lakes in the United States. The island that makes up this park is accessible only by boat. Shuttles boats and private transportation is available in the nearby town of Chelan. Once on the island, shuttle buses transport campers to Stehekin Valley campgrounds, a multi-site, rugged area surrounded by mountains. This area is extremely popular with backpackers, fishermen, boaters and hikers.

The Boundary Dam area sits on 1,000 acres in northeast Washington. Primitive campsites are nestled into forested areas along the Pend Oreille River. Wildlife is common here. Elk, bear, deer and small animals are a frequent site. If primitive camping isn't your style, there's a second campground within the park, 2 miles north of the dam. Outfitted with grills, picnic tables and toilets, the latter is a nice, clean alternative to the more rugged sites.

There's a 10 acre campground at Chopaka Lake, a beautiful place to pitch the tent. Chopaka Lake is actually seated at the top of Chopaka Mountain. The view is unforgettable! Hiking trails travel through a Mountain Wilderness Study Area and through the Okanogan highlands. There is no fee for camping or using the facilities.

SUN LAKES STATE PARK

A chain of 7 lakes and rocky canyons make up this State Park. Hiking trails, boat rentals, fishing equipment and more, make this a camping area full of fun. There are 162 standard campsites, 18 with full hookups. Ten group sites are also available. With 15 miles of hiking trails, canyons and rocky desert lands, this park is not only beautiful, but enjoyable.

Located on Whedbey Island in Washington, Fort Casey State Park used to be home to a U.S. Coast Guard Artillery Fort dating back to the late 1890s. With 63 picnic tables, 1.25 miles of trails, 35 standard camping sites and 3 primitive tent sites, this park is brimming with things to see and do. Boating, fishing, scuba diving, hiking and clamming are all available on the island. Don't forget to take a walk through the historic bunker structures and underwater park at Casey's. This one is fun for the whole family!

FORT EBEY STATE PARK

There are 645 acres at Fort Ebey State Park. Once home to a coastal defense system for the Puget Sound area, this former fort is also brimming with things to see and do from days gone by. On-site facilities include 53 campsites, restrooms and showers, beach access, 24 picnic sites, concrete bunker structures and three miles of hiking trails. If you're looking for a blast from the past, this is a beautiful park.

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK

This National Park is picture postcard perfect! Wave sculpted beaches, lots of surf, several lakes, glaciers and a rain forest make up this area. You'll be able to view 63 miles of coastline here and hike as much as 600 miles of trails. Campsites are available for a small fee.
